ABUJA — Nigeria and Egypt have taken strategic steps to strengthen air transport connectivity and boost bilateral aviation cooperation.
During a high-level bilateral meeting, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, met with Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, to discuss critical enhancements to existing air travel agreements. Keyamo formally requested that EgyptAir deploy newer aircraft on its busy Abuja and Lagos routes to improve passenger experience and operational efficiency.
Both ministers agreed to review and fine-tune their existing Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) to align with current industry realities, supporting overall growth across Nigeria’s aviation sector.
