“There Is No Vacancy in Enugu Government House” — Movement Declares, Citing Infrastructure, Security, Investment, and Human Capital Development
The Renewed Hope Grassroots Movement (RHGM), Southeast Zone, has formally endorsed the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for a second term in office, describing his administration as a model of purposeful leadership, development-driven governance, and measurable transformation.
The endorsement was announced by the National Zonal Coordinator of RHGM Southeast, High Chief Elvis Livinus Chijiuba Aniebo, Onwa Gburugbururu, following extensive consultations and assessment of the Governor’s performance since assuming office on May 29, 2023.
According to RHGM, the decision reflects the movement’s commitment to supporting leaders who deliver tangible results, improve citizens’ welfare, and create sustainable opportunities for economic growth.
The group highlighted Governor Mbah’s administration’s focus on critical sectors including infrastructure renewal, security, education, healthcare, transportation, agriculture, technology, and investment promotion as evidence of a government committed to repositioning Enugu State.
“Governor Peter Mbah has demonstrated that governance is about results, bold reforms, and sustainable development rather than political rhetoric,” RHGM stated.
The movement particularly praised the administration’s investments in road construction, urban renewal, modern transport terminals, the Enugu Smart Green Schools initiative, Type II Primary Healthcare Centres across the wards, the development of the New Enugu Smart City, and the revitalisation of key state assets.
RHGM also pointed to the establishment of Enugu Air, youth empowerment initiatives such as the 042 Ride Taxi Scheme, efforts to attract private investments, and increased funding for education as indicators of the administration’s development agenda.
Security Architecture Receives Commendation
The group singled out security as a major area of achievement, noting the deployment of technology-driven security solutions aimed at improving intelligence gathering, crime prevention, and rapid emergency response.
RHGM acknowledged the Enugu digital security architecture, which includes a central Command and Control Centre, AI-enabled surveillance systems, drone technology, intelligent monitoring platforms, and improved coordination among security agencies.
The movement said these measures have contributed to creating a safer environment for residents, businesses, and investors.
Partnership With Federal Government
RHGM also commended the growing partnership between the Enugu State Government and the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing collaboration between both levels of government as essential for accelerating development.
The movement noted that strategic cooperation between federal, state, and grassroots structures remains critical to delivering democratic dividends to citizens.
“Continuity Will Consolidate Gains”
In its endorsement statement, RHGM said continuity in governance would allow Enugu State to consolidate ongoing projects, attract more investments, create jobs, and expand opportunities for residents.
The movement maintained that Governor Mbah’s background as a maritime lawyer, former Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, entrepreneur, and philanthropist reflects a long-standing commitment to public service.
RHGM further referenced the 2026 Phillips Consulting State Performance Index (pSPI), which recognised Enugu as the state with the strongest development momentum in Nigeria.
The group pledged to mobilise its grassroots structures across the 260 wards of Enugu State to support the Governor’s re-election bid.
“Our position is unequivocal: there is no vacancy in Enugu State Government House. Enugu is working, and the people are witnessing tangible progress,” RHGM declared.
