President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received re-elected Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, following Adeleke’s victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election. Adeleke presented his Certificate of Return to the President during the meeting.
The meeting comes days after President Tinubu congratulated Adeleke and described the Osun result as an expression of the people’s will. Adeleke’s victory, according to INEC results reported by multiple outlets, saw him secure 511,067 votes, ahead of APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
Beyond politics, the encounter sends a message about democratic governance: after the contest comes the responsibility to govern. The challenge before Governor Adeleke is now to turn the renewed mandate into tangible development for the people of Osun.
