This is a major route used daily by heavy-duty trucks accessing Nigeria’s busiest maritime gateways The current condition of the road is already affecting movement and creating safety concerns for truck drivers, port users, and other road users.
Government authorities do not need to wait until a major accident occurs — such as a loaded truck collapsing, overturning, damaging other vehicles, or causing loss of lives — before urgent intervention is carried out.
Preventive maintenance is always cheaper and safer than emergency reconstruction after disaster strikes.
