In an atmosphere charged with warmth, gratitude and communal solidarity, friends, family members, office colleagues and well-wishers converged for a memorable end-of-year stakeholders’ gathering held in honour of Madam Charity Zemife Arize, the revered mother of Chief Sunny Arize, MD/CEO of Arijoy Group, who clocked 89 years recently.

The event, rich in symbolism and compassion, was both a celebration of Mama’s enduring legacy of kindness and a platform for giving back to the community. In the true spirit of the season, end-of-year giveaways were distributed to workers and beneficiaries, including bags of rice, groundnut oil, cash gifts and other essential items, underscoring the Arize family’s commitment to easing hardship and spreading joy.

Birth of a Legacy: Foundation Launched

A major highlight of the gathering was the formal inauguration of the Madam Charity Zemife Arize Foundation, a humanitarian initiative established to institutionalise Mama’s lifelong passion for feeding the hungry and caring for the vulnerable.

Speaking at the event, Chief Sunny Arize, CEO of Arijoy Group, described the foundation as a continuation of his mother’s philosophy of life. He noted that the idea was born from Mama’s deep conviction that “no one should suffer or die because of hunger.” According to him, the foundation will focus on food support, welfare outreach and compassionate intervention for those in need.

A Mother’s Blessing

In a deeply moving moment, Madam Charity Zemife Arize offered heartfelt prayers in Igbo, English, Hausa and Yoruba, symbolising unity and inclusiveness. She urged wives to care for, support and stand by their husbands and children, while equally advising husbands to reciprocate love, responsibility and commitment to their families—a message that resonated strongly with attendees.

Family, Tradition and Gratitude

The programme was graced by prominent family members, including Chief and Lolo Sunny Arize and Chief and Lolo Ejiofor Arize, Mr. Ogechi and Miss Temitope, adding cultural depth and family warmth and office fraternity to the occasion.

As the event drew to a close, Lolo Joy Arize delivered a resounding vote of thanks, expressing profound appreciation to all guests, supporters and stakeholders who honoured the invitation and shared in the celebration.

More Than a Celebration

Beyond the festivities, the gathering stood as a testament to compassion, family values and social responsibility, marking the beginning of what many described as a lasting humanitarian legacy rooted in love, service and community upliftment—just as Madam Charity Zemife Arize has lived and taught.

Even at 89 years, she exudes intelligence, love and philanthropy
