A fresh controversy has emerged in Ebonyi State following claims that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) intercepted a bureau de change operator at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, over funds allegedly linked to the Ebonyi State Government.
The allegation, which has generated heated discussions in political circles and on social media, is yet to be officially confirmed by the EFCC or backed by publicly available investigation documents.
However, the development has renewed calls from concerned stakeholders for greater transparency in the management of public resources and for relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate any financial transaction involving public funds.
