President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renewal of tenure for three Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service, in line with existing public service regulations.

The renewal affects Ms. Kachallom Shangti Daju, Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare; Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba, Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Justice; and Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Regional Development.

According to an official statement, the approval will take effect from April 27, 2026, marking the beginning of a second and final four-year term for the affected officials.

The renewal is consistent with Public Service Rule (PSR) 020909, which provides that Permanent Secretaries may serve an initial four-year tenure and are eligible for a further four-year term subject to satisfactory performance.

Congratulating the officials on their reappointment, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson‑Jack, described the renewed mandate as a call to greater dedication and excellence in public service.

She urged the Permanent Secretaries to leverage their extensive experience and professional expertise to strengthen service delivery and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Walson-Jack further expressed confidence that the renewed leadership continuity would support the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance efficiency, accountability and policy implementation across key sectors of the public service.
