Nigeria has recorded historic $6.1bn non-oil export valued, says statehouse inforgraphics

The State House has released a fact-check report highlighting what it describes as a record-breaking performance in Nigeria’s non-oil export sector, with 2025 figures reaching $6.1 billion, the highest since the inception of the export promotion framework.

According to the infographic titled “Nigeria’s Non-Oil Export Revolution: Fact-Checking the Numbers,” the 2025 performance more than doubles the $2.97 billion recorded in 2013, representing a 100 per cent increase over the benchmark year. The report attributes the growth to product diversification, expanded trade volumes on the Nigerian Commodities Exchange, and structured reforms aimed at boosting exporter competitiveness.

Cocoa and urea emerged as top earners, contributing $1.99 billion and $1.29 billion respectively, while cashew nuts and other commodities also posted significant gains. Nigeria reportedly exported to 120 countries, with the Netherlands, Brazil and India listed among key trade partners.

The document further outlines capacity-building efforts and exporter support initiatives, including thousands of jobs created, MSME certifications, and agricultural seedling distribution programs. It also notes a surge in capital importation to $21 billion within ten months of 2025, signaling broader investor confidence.

The State House links the gains to the administration’s economic diversification strategy under the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing continued reforms to strengthen non-oil revenue streams and reduce dependence on crude exports.
