AWC EDUCATIONAL DESK, SEPTEMBER 2026
ABUJA – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued what amounts to a final warning to candidates offered admission from 2021 to date, urging them to immediately log into their JAMB profiles and either accept or reject their outstanding admission offers.
JAMB has extended the earlier deadline of August 31, 2026, to September 30, 2026, describing the extension as a final opportunity for affected candidates, including those with regular and CUIIA admission offers, to regularise their admission status.
The Board warned that after the September 30 deadline, all outstanding admission offers from 2021 that have neither been accepted nor rejected will automatically revert to “Not Admitted” status in its records. JAMB stressed that there would be no further opportunity after the expiration of the extended deadline.
The development is particularly important for students who may have gained admission years ago but failed to formally accept the offer on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). Affected candidates are advised to check their admission status and take the necessary action immediately rather than wait until the deadline.
JAMB also clarified that candidates already offered admission in the 2026 admission exercise, but who still have an earlier outstanding admission offer, may reject the old offer without any adverse effect on their current 2026 admission.
For thousands of students, parents and graduates across Nigeria, the message is now clear: check your JAMB admission status before September 30 — because an unaccepted admission could soon disappear from the Board’s active records.
