May, 2026 – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday arrived at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya, venue of the highly anticipated Africa Forward Summit, where he is expected to deliver a major presentation on Africa’s economic transformation, regional integration, and sustainable development.
The summit, co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, has attracted Heads of State, senior government officials, multinational investors, development finance institutions, technology leaders, climate experts, and policy strategists from across Africa and beyond.
President Tinubu was seen arriving at the summit venue amid tight security and diplomatic protocol arrangements, with officials of the Kenyan government and summit organizers welcoming participating delegations.
According to diplomatic sources, President Tinubu is expected to make a strategic presentation highlighting Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms, energy transition agenda, infrastructure expansion, digital innovation drive, investment opportunities, and Africa-led solutions to continental challenges.
The Nigerian leader is also expected to showcase the objectives of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, with emphasis on regional trade integration, food security, energy security, youth innovation, industrialization, maritime development, climate resilience, and economic cooperation among African nations.
Analysts say Tinubu’s address is likely to focus on strengthening intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), mobilizing international investment into Africa’s productive sectors, and positioning Nigeria as a leading destination for business and strategic partnerships on the continent.
The President is scheduled to address a distinguished gathering expected to include African leaders such as President William Ruto of Kenya, President Emmanuel Macron of France, senior officials of the African Union, representatives of the African Development Bank, officials of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and executives from major global corporations and investment groups.
Business leaders, technology innovators, climate finance experts, trade negotiators, development partners, and policymakers from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa are also participating in the summit’s high-level sessions.
Observers note that the Africa Forward Summit comes at a critical period when African economies are seeking stronger cooperation on infrastructure financing, energy access, food systems, industrial growth, digital transformation, and climate adaptation.
Diplomatic analysts further believe the summit provides Nigeria an important opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations, attract foreign direct investment, and reinforce its leadership role within Africa’s political and economic landscape.
President Tinubu is accompanied on the trip by senior members of his cabinet, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Bianca Ojukwu, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Bosun Tijani, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola, and other senior government officials.
The summit is expected to conclude with new commitments on investment, climate cooperation, technology partnerships, regional trade, and collective strategies aimed at accelerating Africa’s economic future.
