Uphold Peace, Rule of Law After Eid, Tinubu tells Nigerians

Lagos, March 2026 — Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has called on citizens to uphold peace, respect the rule of law, and actively support national security efforts following the Eid-el-Fitr prayers.

Speaking shortly after observing the prayers, the President emphasised that maintaining peace and stability in Nigeria is a shared responsibility, urging citizens to play active roles in safeguarding the nation.

He specifically encouraged Nigerians to share vital information with security agencies, stressing that vigilance and cooperation are critical in addressing security challenges across the country.

President Tinubu further underscored the importance of respecting the rule of law, noting that national progress and development depend on order, discipline, and collective responsibility among citizens.

The President also urged Nigerians to sustain the virtues learned during Ramadan—such as tolerance, compassion, and unity—beyond the festive period, describing them as essential pillars for nation-building.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace and security, Tinubu noted that government efforts alone are insufficient without the active participation of the people.

The message, which was made available to AWC, aligns with the broader goals of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises national unity, security, and inclusive development.
