Abuja, December 24, 2025 — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has used his 2025 Christmas Goodwill Message to reaffirm the Federal Government’s unyielding commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s security, unity and stability, declaring that no Nigerian should suffer discrimination or insecurity on the basis of faith, ethnicity or belief.

In a message addressed to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, the President said his administration remains firmly guided “under God and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, stressing that every citizen has the right to live, worship and pursue their aspirations in safety and dignity.

Faith, Tolerance and National Unity

President Tinubu underscored that religious freedom and mutual respect are non-negotiable pillars of Nigeria’s democracy, noting that love for God and love for humanity cut across all major faiths and must continue to bind Nigerians together.

“No one, regardless of ethnicity or belief, should be made to suffer for professing and practising his faith,” the President said, adding that Nigeria’s diversity must remain a source of strength, not division.

He revealed that throughout 2025, he had engaged extensively with leaders of the two major faiths in the country, particularly against the backdrop of concerns over religious intolerance and insecurity. According to him, these engagements will be deepened in the coming year to strengthen collaboration between government and religious institutions, prevent conflict and promote peaceful coexistence.

Security Assurance and Responsible Travel

Reassuring citizens during the festive season, Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to national security and public safety, especially as millions of Nigerians travel to reunite with family and loved ones.

He urged road users to exercise patience and discipline, while wishing travellers safe journeys and safe returns, a message coming amid heightened holiday traffic across major highways.

Hope Beyond Christmas

Looking ahead, the President expressed confidence that divine providence and collective national resolve will continue to guide Nigeria’s progress.

“With confidence in divine providence and our collective strength, we will continue the work of building a greater Nigeria — one that future generations will be proud of,” he said.

President Tinubu concluded by extending warm festive wishes to Nigerians, wishing them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance, while calling on citizens to keep faith in the nation and in one another.

The message strikes a unifying tone at a time of economic reforms and security challenges, reinforcing the administration’s narrative of national cohesion, religious harmony and shared responsibility in building a resilient Nigeria.
