AWC Statehouse Desk, February, 2O26

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu last Sunday hosted the Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), General Dagvin Anderson, and his delegation at the State House, Abuja, in a high-level security engagement.

The meeting was attended by Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Service Chiefs, and the U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires in Nigeria, Mr. Keith Heffern.

Discussions centred on strengthening defence cooperation, regional security, and strategic partnership between Nigeria and the United States, particularly in addressing terrorism, maritime security, and other transnational threats.

The engagement underscored the shared commitment of both countries to sustaining peace, stability, and security across Nigeria and the wider African region.
