The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has intensified efforts to guarantee uninterrupted petroleum products supply across the country with a high-level engagement of key downstream sector stakeholders.
The engagement took place during a courtesy visit to the Authority, led by the Authority Chief Executive, Engr. Saidu Mohammed, where discussions centred on strengthening collaboration to address emerging challenges in the downstream petroleum value chain.
According to the NMDPRA, the meeting focused on critical issues affecting the security, efficiency and sustainability of petroleum supply, including logistics, infrastructure integrity and coordinated response mechanisms to prevent disruptions in product distribution nationwide.
Engr. Mohammed stated the importance of strong partnerships between the regulator and industry operators, noting that safeguarding the petroleum supply chain is essential to economic stability, energy security and public confidence. He stressed that proactive stakeholder engagement remains a key strategy in ensuring that petroleum products move seamlessly from depots to end users across all regions of the country.
Stakeholders at the meeting acknowledged the Authorityās regulatory leadership and reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the NMDPRA to maintain operational efficiency, compliance with regulations and steady product availability.
The engagement reflects the Authorityās broader mandate to create a resilient and transparent downstream petroleum sector, capable of meeting national demand while supporting sustainable growth and protecting consumers from avoidable supply shocks.
