Strikes Marked By Precision, Shared Intelligence

Nigeria has confirmed a major boost in its counter-terrorism campaign following deepened security cooperation and intelligence collaboration with the United States, resulting in precision air strikes against terrorist targets in parts of the North-West.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and made available to AWC, the Federal Government said Nigerian authorities remain actively engaged in structured and lawful security partnerships with international allies, particularly the United States, to confront the persistent threat of terrorism and violent extremism.
Intelligence-Driven Operations
According to the ministry, the collaboration involves intelligence sharing, strategic coordination and operational support, conducted in line with international law, respect for Nigeria’s sovereignty and bilateral agreements.
These engagements, officials said, have enabled accurate targeting of terrorist enclaves, disrupting networks responsible for killings, kidnappings and destabilisation across affected regions.
“The cooperation is consistent with global best practices and our shared commitment to regional and international security,” the statement noted.
Civilian Protection at the Core
The Federal Government stressed that all counter-terrorism actions are guided by the primacy of protecting civilian lives, safeguarding national unity and upholding the rights and dignity of all Nigerians, regardless of faith or ethnicity.
It emphasised that terrorist violence—whether directed at Christians, Muslims or any other community—remains an affront to Nigeria’s core values and a direct threat to international peace and security.
Disrupting Terror Networks
Beyond kinetic operations, Nigeria said it is working with its partners to weaken terrorist financing, dismantle logistics chains and prevent cross-border threats, while simultaneously strengthening the capacity of its domestic security and intelligence institutions.
Officials described the renewed cooperation as part of a broader strategy to ensure sustainable security gains rather than short-term victories.
Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in Action
The development aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises national security, intelligence-led operations and international partnerships as critical pillars for restoring peace and stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured Nigerians that it will continue engaging relevant partners and provide updates through official channels as operations progress.
As terrorist groups face increasing pressure from coordinated intelligence and precision strikes, authorities say the message is clear: Nigeria and its allies are closing ranks, and terror safe havens are shrinking.
